HILL CLOSE VICTORIAN
GARDENS, WARWICK
The complex of sixteen
newly restored Victorian Gardens, several with old summerhouses, are located
adjacent to Warwick Racecourse, at Bread and Meat Close, Warwick. The Gardens and Tearoom are open from
April to October: Saturdays and Bank Holidays 11am - 5pm, Fridays and Sundays
2 - 5pm. Group visits and guided tours can also be booked during the week.
Workshops and special events (such as Snowdrop weekend, and children's activities)
take place throughout the year. There
is convenient parking nearby (2 hours free). Admission £3, free to members.
The new Hill Close Centre (in the gardens) is now open, and provides
a modern and innovative venue which can be rented for lectures, educational
and social events, etc. The Lammas Room has flexible facilities, digital
projection, etc., with lecture seating for up to 60 people, or table seating
for a smaller number. A kitchen is available for refreshments.
As a charity, we need help from volunteers - in the gardens, and to greet
and assist visitors, help with administrative tasks, etc. If you would be
willing to spend a few hours a month, and join a group of enthusiastic and
friendly helpers, or would like to know more, please contact us.
For more information about the Centre, group visits to the gardens,
and volunteer opportunities, please phone 01926 493 339 (answerphone).
